82 mins: GOAL France 1-1 South Korea
It is pandemonium in the South Korean end and the fans are rocking as one after Park Ji-Sung equalises. Seol Ki-Hyeon's cross is knocked back by Cho Jin-Jae and Park prods the ball just over Fabien Barthez and it creeps in at the far post.

France remain without a win in the World Cup finals since their 1998 victory over Brazil after South Korea came from behind to snatch a point. Thierry Henry gave France an early lead, latching on to Sylvain Wiltord's deflected shot to sidefoot home. Patrick Vieira also looked to have scored, but the referee failed to give the goal, penalising Florent Malouda as he tried to force in the rebound. But with 10 minutes to go Park Ji-sung punished some sloppy French defending.

FULL-TIME: The South Korean fans almost blow the roof off Zentralstadion at the final whistle. They remain top and France have it all to do against Togo without ageing talisman Zinedine Zidane.

90 + 3 mins: It is harem-scarem stuff and South Korea win a free-kick just outside the area. Ahn Jung-Hwan drives it low and wide.

90 + 1 min: Is that an au revoir to Zinedine Zidane? The skipper makes way for David Trezeguet.

90 mins: South Korea break but as they approach the area Lilian Thuram mops up the danger. Both teams are going all out for the three points. There are three extra minutes to play.

89 mins: France have upped the tempo in the search for a winner. Willy Sagnol's low cross is headed wide by Thierry Henry.

88 mins: Vikash Dhorasoo replaces Florent Malouda for an exciting finale. Forget that fine wine, this has got the kick of a French brandy... or maybe that should be some potent South Korean tonic.

87 mins: Thierry Henry, running away from goal, heads Zinedine Zidane's clipped header over.

85 mins: Zinedine Zidane plays in Thierry Henry but Lee Woon-Jae saves well. Zidane follows up and barges into Kim Chul-Young to earn a yellow card that rules him out of the next match. If France fail to qualify this will be his last football match.

83 mins: Franck Ribery picks out Patrick Vieira in space on the edge of the penalty box but balloons his shot absolutely miles over the crossbar.

80 mins: Out of nowhere South Korea get a second wind. Lilian Thuram stoops to clear danger.

79 mins: Eric Abidal will miss France's final group match after catching Lee Young-Pyo's trailing leg and receiving a yellow card.

77 mins: Franck Ribery is showing better quality than he did in the opening match. Neat footwork helps him escape the clutches of two South Koreans but his pass to Florent Malouda is too heavy.

74 mins: Franck Ribery's corner is cleared but only as far as Florent Malouda, who controls and fizzes a dipping volley ball back just over the bar.

73 mins: South Korea coach Dick Advocaat makes his final change. Ahn Jung-Hwan comes on for Lee Chun-Soo. It is four years to the day that Ahn scored the famous goal that knocked Italy out of the 2002 tournament.

72 mins: Unlike French wine this match is not getting better with time. France seem to be going through the motions by and large.

70 mins: Franck Ribery shows quick feet and breaks down the left but his stabbed cross into the box is easily cleared as the only white shirt in the area is Patrick Vieira.

69 mins: While Patrick Vieira has resumed and is back helping the French midfield tick over, Lee Ho has had to make use of that stretcher. Kim Sang-Sik comes on.

66 mins: Patrick Vieira and Lee Ho clash under a high ball and stay down near the halfway line. Two stretchers come on but neither is used as the players slowly get back to their feet after a bit of attention.

64 mins: The corner goes long but William Gallas is unable to turn the ball back into the box.

63 mins: Willy Sagnol goes on a mazy run into the box but his shot is deflected out for a corner. The Bayern Munich man appeals for handball but gets short shrift from the referee.

60 mins: France make a change and the call goes out for 'Scarface'. No, not Al Pacino but Franck Ribery, who replaces Sylvain Wiltord. The Marseille man goes by the nickname after suffering facial injuries in a car crash when he was a child.

56 mins: Willy Sagnol overlaps down the right and whips in an inviting cross which Patrick Vieira powers on goal. It is saved on the line this time, but again the whistle goes for a free-kick, the Juventus men adjudged to have fouled Choi Jin-Chul.

54 mins: Lee Chun-Soo flights another good free-kick into the French area and Kim Dong-Jin gets in behind Lilian Thuram but heads over the crossbar.

52 mins: Sylvain Wiltord gets on the end of Thierry Henry's knock down on the edge of the area but fails to get his shot on goal.

47 mins: Thierry Henry has runners ahead of him but picks the pass sideways to Patrick Vieira. It was the wrong decision as his ex-club team-mate is pounced on by a South Korean defender and the danger is cleared.

2104 BST: The French players come out in dribs and drabs and we finally get going after Lilian Thuram trots out.

2101 BST: South Korea go into a huddle before the second half and there's a new face in their. Wolves player Seol Ki-Hyeon is on for Lee Eul-Yong.

PLAYER RATER: South Korea have had the majority of the possession but have not done much with it, so not surprisingly French players lead the ratings. The Match of the Day studio are raving about Patrick Vieira's performance, but Thierry Henry is getting your nod at the moment.

"Patrick Vieira's header was clearly inside the goal. At 2-0 it would have been finished, France would have been free."
Marcel Desailly, BBC Sport

"The French settled after their goal, they've been a lot better than the first game. But I still believe South Korea have something to offer in the second half."
Kevin Gallacher, BBC Five Live Sport

"France have been a totally different side. They're higher up the pitch, playing with a higher tempo and the South Koreans have not been in the match."
Alan Hansen, BBC Sport

HALF-TIME: The whistle goes on a satisfying 45 minutes for France, but Thierry Henry still looks moody as he comes off.

45 + 2 mins: Eric Abidal looks to be running freely in the short passage before the whistle.

45 + 1 min: The half ends on a potentially sour note for France. Eric Abidal chases back a long ball over the top with Park Ji-Sung and falls awkwardly. We will have to wait to see if he re-emerges after the break.

43 mins: France are so much improved from their dour efforts against Switzerland. Florent Malouda is popping up on the left and the right as the trio of players behind Thierry Henry play with fluidity and energy.

41 mins: A lovely move. Thierry Henry receives the ball on the left of the area. He cuts infield and plays it into the box to Florent Malouda but is just unable to get his foot to the return with the goal beckoning.

37 mins: Lee Chun-Soo's deep free-kick on the left evades everyone in the box, despite the best efforts of Cho Jae-Jin, and curls just wide of the French goal with Fabien Barthez flat-footed.

32 mins: France should be two goals ahead. Patrick Vieira meets Zinedine Zidane's corner with a powerful header which is clawed away by goalkeeper Lee Woon-Jae behind the line. The whistle goes soon after for a foul by Florent Malouda on Ho Lee as he follows up to stab in the loose ball.

29 mins: Another yellow card for South Korea and another foul on Florent Malouda. He takes a second hit from behind and this time Kim Dong-Jin is the villain of the piece.

28 mins: Thierry Henry beautifully brings down Patrick Vieira's excellent long pass on his thigh as he breaks into the area but he is unable to get the ball out from under his feet and shoot on goal, falling down with Lee Young-Pyo. The referee waves away the striker's penalty appeals.

27 mins: Zinedine Zidane, leaning back, heads over at the back post from a corner.

26 mins: Choi Jin-Chul concedes a free-kick in a central position for a foul on Thierry Henry after minimal contact. The striker steps up for the free-kick but his strike is poor and hits the wall.

24 mins: Florent Malouda shrugs off Kim Young-Chul and squirts a shot wide from the edge of the area as the South Korean tries to get back at him.

20 mins: A lack of communication between William Gallas and Fabien Barthez causes a heart flutter for French fans. With Park Ji-Sung chasing through a long ball, Gallas heads back to his keeper who has advanced and the ball goes out for a corner. France clear from the corner.

16 mins: South Korea are being cheered on by massed ranks of jumping, clapping fans but their players cannot find a way through the French rearguard. This time it is Eric Abidal who breaks their sideways momentum across the edge of the box with a strong challenge.

14 mins: France look slightly rattled at the back on the left before Patrick Vieira steps in with a firm tackle on Lee Young-Pyo to halt South Korea's movement.

11 mins: Lee Ho is booked for a sliding tackle from behind on Florent Malouda.

9 mins: GOAL France 1-0 South Korea
Thierry Henry scores France's first World Cup goal since Emmanuel Petit slotted the third in the 1998 World Cup final. The Arsenal man bisects two defenders on the edge of the area to latch on to Sylvain Wiltord's pass and, after controlling with his right foot, he scores with his left.

6 mins: Lee Woon-Jae is called into action again and races off his line to block Sylvain Wiltord's shot after the Frenchman had been played in down the right-hand channel by Thierry Henry.

4 mins: France do get a corner on the right but goalkeeper Lee Woon-Jae punches clear.

3 mins: "The French have got their passing movement pretty quickly."
Kevin Gallacher, BBC Five Live Sport

1 min: Florent Malouda piles into a challenge with Kim Nam-Il and looks to have won a corner, but inexplicably it is given the other way.

2000 BST: France, all in white, kick-off the action.

PRE-MATCH BUILD-UP
1959 BST: The raucous, red-clad South Korean fans are outnumbered by the French who have flocked across the border, but they are still making a right racket. For those still in Asia it is an early start to watch the match in Seoul and beyond on a Monday morning (0400 local time).

1955 BST: The anthems receive a fantastic reception, although not by the South Korean players. A singing quota of one, and even he was not giving it his full, just a trembling lip effort.

1953 BST: The players emerge from the tunnel. If South Korea win they will go through to the second round.

1946 BST: France coach Raymond Domenech has a reported distrust of players born under the star sign of Scorpio. He has chosen none in his squad. The bad news is there are none in South Korea's either for his players to prey on.

1939 BST: These two teams have met twice before, both since the turn of the century. France have racked up eight goals in two wins.

1932 BST: Florent Malouda returns to the team after having laser treatment for haemorrhoids. Nasty to have and a nightmare to spell. For any future references we'll go with the more prosaic piles.

1922 BST: "The key for France is the start - we need more enthusiasm, we need something extra. The way Thierry Henry plays for France suggests there is something negative about the team."
Marcel Desailly, BBC Sport

1906 BST: The confirmation of the teams comes through and South Korea will start with Ahn Jung-Hwan, their match-winning goalscorer against Togo, on the bench. Kim Dong-Jin comes into the defence and Kim Nam-Il plays in midfield.

PLAYER RATER: 76% of you think Raymond Domenech is wrong to leave Arsenal hit man Thierry Henry on his own in attack.

1859 BST: France coach Raymond Domenech named his line-up 24 hours before the match and makes one change, Florent Malouda coming in for Franck Ribery.

1752 BST: "We were expecting better from France against Switzerland, we expected enthusiasm and speed. Now they are under pressure and everyone's asking what's going on. They can feel it and they are not enjoying their World Cup, but if they start well it could be a 3-0 for France."
Marcel Desailly, BBC Sport
